Till July 2013, the Central Mine Planning & Design Institute (CMPDI) carried out 2.16 lakh metre of drilling for coal exploration compared to government's set target of 9.0 lakh meter.
Of this, the institute drilled 96,691 metre through departmental resources. This is a growth of 14 percent. Some 50 reports have also been prepared till July 2013 against the yearly target of 198 reports.
The company secured about eight external consultancy jobs worth Rs 4.42 crore against the yearly target of Rs 22 crore. The company is targeting a Rs 751 crore turnover in 2013-14 which is 25 percent higher that last year.
A proposal was also mooted by CMPDI in association with GERMI (Gujarat Energy Research and Management Institute) for development of solar energy. This project has already been approved by CIL board. The main objective of the project is development of a solar based micro-grid in CMPDI Campus.
The capacity of solar plant will be about 200 kw. Major part of the plant (about 165 kw) will be installed on the roof top of the main building. The rest will be installed on the roof top of different multistoried 'C' and 'D' type buildings. CMPDI has proposed to achieve 40 percent of total energy consumption by solar energy.
During 2012-13, the firm deployed Rs 106 lakh on CSR which is the highest till date. CSR budget for the year 2013-14 has been kept at Rs 182 lakh and CSR activities are being carried out as per Annual Action Plan for 2013-14.
