Aveva, a leader in engineering design and information management solutions for the plant, power and marine industries, announced that Metso Paper, a global leader in pulping, papermaking and power generation, has made a major new purchase of Aveva technology. A long-term Aveva customer, Metso's latest investment supports multi-site collaborative engineering projects with a range of applications from Aveva's Plant Portfolio. Metso, headquartered in Helsinki, Finland, has over a decade's experience with Aveva software and services on complex global projects. Selecting only best-in-breed engineering and design software tools, Metso has made Aveva PDMS and Aveva Global a standard used across its organisation and with external suppliers. The Aveva solutions enable collaborative working on a global scale, right first time design and the customisation of projects for individual customers based on their specific requirements. "When we first selected Aveva, they were delivering state-of-the-art design software. Today they are still the best in the market and we use them for all of our 3-D design work," said Ismo Vaiste, General Manager Engineering Systems at Metso Paper. "Aveva partners with us by listening to our requirements and evolving its solutions to meet our changing needs. It is important that we have tools that enhance our productivity. Working with sub-contractors requires increased multi-site working and an open exchange of information."
