Which are the industry segments where you provide your range of power solutions?
ELGi has been providing its wide range of compressed air solutions to the construction, mining and oil & gas industries for more than four decades.
Brief us on engines and sub-systems used in your range that help enhance the performance in terms of fuel efficiency, increased power output and lower weight ratio, and increased life cycle at affordable costs?
ELGi range of diesel powered screw air compressors are powered by international warranty engines that are engineered to provide better fuel efficiency. ELGi's rotary screw airends come with energy saving eta-V rotor profile that is designed to ensure maximum energy efficiency resulting in significant savings in energy costs. The variable capacity control system regulates inlet air suction and matching engine speed to the output demand of compressed air thus reducing fuel consumption and operating costs This combination of energy efficient airends, fuel efficient engines and variable capacity control system provide customers with durable performance at low cost of ownership.
What are the features in-built that can efficiently counter extreme operating conditions?
ELGi portable air compressors come with aluminium oil-coolers that offer better heat dissipation even in a compact construction. The filtration system in two stages prevents dust from entering the compressor and the engine. Hence, the portable compressors are ideal for operating in dusty conditions.
How do you ensure best volume of air for the end tools?
Improved energy efficiency derives from better technology and better understanding of customer applications. ELGi's screw compressors run large airends at slow speed to product compressed air. An airend is the heart of a screw compressor and it comprises two screws that rotate in opposite directions. Their rotation draws a volume of air and compresses it to a desired pressure. The size of the screws determines the volume of air. ELGi's airend design employs large rotors rotating at low speed, which offers high volumetric efficiency, thereby, resulting in the lowest energy consumption. We believe that energy efficiency starts with the understanding the customer. We have invested in training our sales team to study customer application and recommend the right size of compressors.
Is there a shift/change in demand from end-user segments? How successful have you been to meet this shift in terms of product/technology?
Compact and fuel-efficient high pressure compressors which can be mounted on both trucks and excavators are in demand for faster drilling and quicker RoI. There is also need for the same portable compressor being used for multiple applications. ELGi has already started delivering its PG 500-150 and PG 300-150 (100 and 150 psi) dual pressure compressors, which can be used for jack hammer and drilling applications. Low power consumption, low fuel consumption and maximum drilling are the need of the hour for the customers. ELGi has been constantly working on bringing in technology advancements in its products to satisfy the customer needs and has been launching new models to meet the customer expectations.
What is the current market scenario? How do you look at the market growth trend in the next five years?
Portable air compressor market share occupied more than 40 per cent of the industry and is estimated to witness growth over the next few years. Rising consumer awareness, growing requirement for reliability along with a positive outlook on regulatory policies and measures are expected to drive demand and stimulate growth in this segment.
