With the presentation of BoWex« FLE-PAC, the KTR engineers have improved the most well-known flange coupling for hydrostatic transmission in construction equipment.
Hydrostatic transmissions in agricultural and construction machinery increasingly require a higher life of the individual components. With the use of conventional materials and designs, the engineers are pushing the limits of the existing components. Based on the very successful design of BoWex« FLE-PAC, the KTR engineers have improved matching materials. The flange material nylon, which has been in use for many years, is now reinforced with carbon, so that it offers better wear properties versus the traditional nylon with glass fibre reinforcement. On the one hand, the carbon-reinforced flange material allows for more lifetime and on the other hand, the hybrid material combination allows for a cost-effective connection with engine flywheels with non-standard dimensions. As a result, we can recognise a very significant improved life of the coupling flange and hub.
The BoWex« FLE-PAC coupling flange is a combination of the inner toothing from carbon-reinforced nylon and a steel plate. This combination allows for a cost-effective production of flanges with non-standard dimensions, which can be found in the industry. For such special flywheel connections, no additional and bulky adapter solutions are needed. Such adapters are an additional expense and take up a lot of space. The BoWex« FLE-PAC coupling flanges are combined with the well-known and proven BoWex« hubs which have the unique curved-tooth« design for better torque transmission between hub and flange. So, the BoWex« FLE-PAC offers, besides the commercial advantages, also new possibilities to realise more compact and wearresistant hydrostatic transmissions.
BoWex« FLE-PAC couplings are available up to 2.500 Nm nominal torque which corresponds to i. c. engine sizes of some 400 kW.
The BoWex« FLE-PAC coupling flanges are combined with the well-known and proven BoWex« hubs which have the unique curved-tooth« design for better torque transmission between hub and flange.
