Hyundai Construction Equipment India announced the launch of the country's first excavator specially designed for salt application, R80-7 Salt, in Bhavnagar, Gujarat. According to Dheeraj Panda, General Manager, Sales and Marketing, the market for salt excavators in India is in an evolving stage. The salt excavator is equipped to reduce fuel consumption by 15 per cent and maintenance cost by 25 per cent. Hyundai excavators are being used in all the segments in India, including mining, infrastructure, power, irrigation and general excavation, he said.
Hyundai Construction, a subsidiary of Hyundai Heavy Industries, Korea, has nearly 30 dealerships across India. Its Pune-based plant was established on 50 acres of land in 2008, with an investment of Rs 400 crore. It manufactures equipment ranging from 8 to 50 tonne.
