GKN LS braking solutions are engineered for reliability and safety of modern and energy efficient drives. They ensure driving and hoisting safety are protected against the most adverse of environment, are provided with precisely tuned safety functions and have low noise.
a) Electrical brakes:
i) NFF/BZFM: These are spring-applied and electromagnetically released brakes for a range of applications.
ii) MFK/MWU-B: These are electromagnetic pole-face friction brakes, and are active brakes for the transmission of torques free from backlash.
KMB/KLM/KLB: These hydraulically released spring-applied multi-disc brakes can be used in a diverse range of stationary and mobile applications.
Over the past 25 years, GKN LS (Stromag-SIME) has developed intelligent brake systems for wind turbines and has become an indispensable partner in the wind energy market.
a) Rotor brakes:
i) Rotowell: This is a fixed calliper brake for the Low Speed Shaft (LSS). Organic lining and easy-to-replace wear-out lining with patented wear CRT compensation system ensures activation time is unvaryingly short at all times.
ii) BCHM/BCH: Active, fixed calliper brakes for High Speed Shaft (HSS). Simple, reliable design and good thermal performance.
iii) Rotor Lock: Locking system for wind turbine rotors.
b) Yaw brakes:
CB90A/CB120: Active hydraulic brakes for azimuth adjustments. Wear check and liner change is easy.
3) Industrial brakes
Our brakes in travelling drives keep construction machinery safely in place, and retain rotary drives at the required position. Winches on cranes and ships are braked and retained in position, even under the most difficult conditions.
a) Electromagnetic brakes: These are disc brakes for service or emergency stops. Brakes are used to safely brake the loads on hoists, trolleys, and winches. High degree of protection, low maintenance, high thermal capacity.
b) Hydraulic brakes: These are spring-applied hydraulically released brakes, with large and unvarying braking torques, low maintenance, compact and short, stable engaging times.
c) Electro hydraulic thruster drum brakes: These are indigenously produced brakes with CE mark, export quality, highly reliable design.
