“We will show our most comprehensive product range of concrete pumps at Excon 2011. These are our full range of trailer pumps and our high-tech boom placers,” says Michael Schmid Lindenmayer, Managing Director, Putzmeister Concrete Machines in an interview with EQUIPMENT INDIA. Excerpts from the interview. What are your expectations from Excon 2011?Excon is a well established trade show and an important platform for Putzmeister to present their innovative products and services. We expect a lot of customers at Excon 2011, especially from south India, and for this year we expect a lot more customers from abroad, too. What are your participation plans for Excon 2011?We had participated in Excon for the first time in 2009 and the feedback was very good. This year we will present our full product range on over 2,000 sq m exhibition space. After having participated in bc-India, Excon will be our second big trade show in 2011. What are the products you are going to showcase at Excon 2011? Are there any new product launches? We will show our most comprehensive product range of concrete pumps. These are our full range of trailer pumps and our high-tech boom placers. We will show new products for trailers and boom placers and also exhibit the first truck-mounted telescopic belt conveyer in India. We will also display our must economical shotcrete machines for tunnel application for the first time. How did the Indian construction equipment industry perform in 2011?So far, the construction equipment industry has performed very well as predicted. In our segment, concrete pumps, the overall growth was approximately 24 percent YOY. The third quarter was slightly below our expectation and so we have to see what the fourth quarter will bring and of course, Excon 2011 should have a positive impact. How has your company performed in 2011?Putzmeister is growing on a much faster pace; we assume that we will grow approximately 70 percent this year. This is due to the still low percentage of pumped concrete in India and the fact that more customers understand the benefit of automation of job sites. All our products have a much lower operation cost and this is what counts for the customer. I’m sure this is the reason why we grow much faster than the market.
