Customers often want high hoisting capacities but at the same time there is very little space on site for manoeuvring and erecting the crane. The modern LTM 1060-3.1 mobile crane is the most powerful 3-axle model on the market and can achieve hoist heights of up to 63 m with its 48-m telescopic boom and double folding jib.
´The crane is really very good in chemical plants in particular´, says Jrgen Beck, Logistics Manager at Wasel in Duisburg, who is responsible for the new machine. ´The 60-tonner can be used for a whole host of applications as a result of the very strong and long mast. And often in very constricted refineries what it needs is something that is small, compact but powerful.´
The LTM 1060-3.1 is an addition to the Liebherr 3-axle product range and features an exceptionally long telescopic boom measuring 48 m. It is the most powerful 3-axle mobile crane on the market. The crane features a special ballast plate configuration to enable it to handle a very wide range of driving conditions particularly with an axle load of 12 t. Disc brakes, speed-dependent rear axle steering and the modern Liebherr LICCON2 control ensure that this new 60-tonne model is both economical and safe.
