Global Cranes, a Grove and Potain dealer, had several Manitowoc cranes on its booth at CTT 2011, including a new crane built specifically for the Russian market. The Grove GBT35 is a new 35 tonne truck crane assembled by Manitowoc in Russia and mounted on a local Volvo truck carrier. It is a reliable and high-quality crane that is fully compliant with all local regulations. Other cranes at the show included two Grove cranes — a 100 tonne capacity GMK4100L all-terrain crane and a 35 tonne capacity RT540E rough-terrain crane – and two Potain cranes — an Igo self-erecting crane and a 5 t capacity MCT 88 topless city crane. Klaus Kroeppel, Vice President of Sales for Central and Eastern Europe, said Manitowoc has invested considerable resources in Russia. “We have gradually expanded over the past 10 years in Russia and the CIS countries,” he said. “We are one of the leading crane manufacturers, with a strong dealer network and Manitowoc Crane Care support for the entire region. Now, we’ve introduced the GBT35 specifically for Russia, which shows our confidence in the future of the Russian market.” Manitowoc also showcased cranes currently working on high-profile projects in Russia.
