Bosch will be relocating its manufacturing plant at Bengaluru's Adugodi locality to Bidadi, near Bengaluru in two phases till 2016-17. The company is investing Rs 600 crore for development of the new facility. Bosch has acquired 97 acre land in Bidadi from the Karnataka government for the construction of the new manufacturing facility. It will also house related support functions besides manufacturing facility for a wide range of products. Its existing plant at Adugodi was built in 1953, which has grown to its full capacity and has no place left for further expansion. The Phase-I will see shifting of 1,000 employees from Bengaluru plant to the new location. Construction in Phase II will take place from 2015 to 2016. Production of inline pumps, elements, delivery valves, conventional and PF pumps will begin by the first quarter of 2017. The Bengaluru plant will also be used for further development of Bosch R&D Centre and Robert Bosch Engineering & Business Solutions (India) to create a technology and engineering centre.
