After a series of success stories in Russia and other developed countries across the world, the Chetra Group rivets its focus in India and declares its ambitious plans of setting up a production unit here.
Machinery and industrial machines producer - Machinery & Industrial Group NV declared its ambitious plans to establish an industrial machines Chetra production unit in India, at the recently-concluded bC India exhibition. M&IG is being imported into India since 1999. “Chetra as a whole group, has a wide range of machines in 40 various product lines. Today, our group holding company Machinery & Industrial Group NV has become the third largest industrial machinery manufacturer in the world,” says Ben Callow, CEO, Chetra Machinery. Ben adds, “We are seriously looking for options to create a manufacturing facility here in India. As part of strengthening our operations in India, we are in the process of establishing an even wider dealership network across the country and we look forward to suitable clients in the key states of India.”
Says Vladimir Lepin, Vice-President for global markets, M&IG, “The production unit will strengthen the Russian producer’s position not only in India but in the whole South-East Asian region as well. Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and South Korea have already shown special interest in Russian Chetra machines. By the end of 2015, the number of annually produced machines will reach 200. Besides this, Russian specialists will carry out educational and qualification-raising programmes for the Indian engineers participating in Chetra production and services.”
The Russian Trade Representative in India, Rapota, emphasised the importance of such international projects that promote scientific and technical cooperation of the two countries. “I am absolutely sure that the future Russian machinery production unit in India will cover the demand for these highly competitive industrial machines and become the contribution of the Russian machine-builders to the economy of the partner state,” he said.
To fulfill the growing demand of Indian customers, a hundred per cent subsidiary, Chetra Machinery India, was set up. Today, the company offers dozers, pipe layers, wheel loaders, and various types of special equipment for pipeline cleaning, priming, heating and insulation works, as well as excavators. Innovative machines by M&IG have been used by many Indian companies like KCC, Jaihind, Punj Lloyd, Coal India, etc. The company’s share of the Indian pipe-layer market has already reached 30 per cent, and may reach 40-50 per cent as the demand of mining and construction industries are on the rise.
