Excerpts from the interview.What is the demand-supply scenario for motor graders for different class and horse power?The demand for the motor graders is quite phenomenal, but with small players and small time contractors using unconventional method and machines instead of motor graders, it becomes challenging to ascertain the actual market demand. However, in our case, we are able to meet the customer requirement 80 per cent on time in 40 countries.What are the growth enablers?Wide range of products and satisfying clients’ needs. High quality of products in the middle range price segment; good correlation of price and quality. In case of Dormarsh, we have all the flexibility matching the latest technology.Rising input cost, high cost of funding, and the recent increase in excise duty have all put more pressure on OEMs. What is your take on this?Yes, this is one area which is constantly affecting our marketing plan. Accordingly, we plan and adopt flexible adjustable policy to meet such sudden changes in taxation and duties.How have the latest emission norms affected the motor grader market?The emission norms have affected the European market mostly.Tell us about your service back up and training facilities.Service and training is effected through the local dealer in ChTZ. In Hyderabad, we have required stock of spare parts.What are the parameters required to achieve optimal grading, and to what extent is the performance correlated to the machine used and on the operator?That depends upon the professional skills of an operator.Any plan to manufacture motor graders here in India?The plan is to assemble using SKD units supplied by the manufacturer with a further shift to locally manufactured ones.
