Italian transmission system maker Carraro has set up a new research and development (R&D) centre along with roll out of new transmission line at its Ranjangaon plant near Pune. The company has invested Euro one million for this facility. Carraro will be making transmission systems for tractors, agro and construction equipment from this plant. It has also launched agricultural transmissions system T10 range with annual capacity of 5,000 units. The collective annual capacity of this plant is of 42,000 units. Carraro India has laid the basis for production of range of tractor transmission systems is from 50 HP up to 120 HP. The R&D centre includes 50 engineers and it is the only centre of Carraro outside Italy. Carraro exports 50 per cent of its production to other markets like Europe, US and Asia. Carraro has production plants in Italy, India, Argentina, China, Germany and the US.
