Atlas Copco (India) is setting up a new facility at Chakan, Pune, to produce stationary industrial compressors and portable compressors. The company has acquired a plot of land at Chakan, where building of the new factory has started.Construction will be completed in the second half of 2012. The company is investing Rs 100 crore to set up the new facility. The company’s existing plant in Dapodi, Pune will focus on the production of oil-free compressors. Atlas Copco foresees strong growth in compressors in all industries where it is present. Atlas Copcocurrently manufactures compressed air equipment at one plant in Pune-Dapodi, while construction and mining equipment are manufactured in Nashik and Hyderabad. The Group also has engineering centres located in Pune and Bengaluru.
